Sub·mit (Verb) Let Go, Let God!

DAY 4 OF 4

THE BENEFITS OF SUBMITTING TO GOD

I love seeing people elevate their arms during a church service, lifting them high towards heaven and swaying them like tender tree branches on a breezy spring day.  I like to think they're surrendering to God in solemn submission. Surrendering to God's will for you in his timing comes with many benefits. It enables you to experience the peace that only he can provide because he is sovereign and in control.

Submitting to God changes your perspective and shifts your focus from your strength to his. God's yoke is easy, and his burden is light. He can handle anything you bring to him in prayer. Come closer to him and he will come closer to you. He's patiently waiting with open arms! God blesses you when you delight in his laws, revere him, and yield to his will.

When you defer to the Holy Spirit who lives in you as a believer, he enables you to resist temptation and overcome challenges because he is more powerful than the enemy in the world. You grow in discipline when you submit to God's commands.

Submission to God's authority brings freedom from the old way of living to a new way of living that leads to eternal life. This freedom is not your self-will, but free of self to do God’s will. Yielding to God frees you from becoming a slave to sin.

You please God when you surrender to him, recognizing that you fall short of his glory and need rescuing. He requires you to yield to his commandments, but when you slip up, and we all do, he is eager to forgive and give you mercy.

When you submit to God, your shepherd, he will guide, comfort, restore, and supply you with overflowing love, goodness, and compassion for all eternity. You are God's personal concern. He loves you and wants the best for you! Bow down to God and humbly ask him to teach you his ways and submit to them. Let go and let God! You can trust him; He knows what he’s doing. For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose. (Philippians 2:13 NIV).

The Wiedmann Bible Team hopes this plan has encouraged you to submit to God daily in order to fulfill His good purpose. All illustrations are from the Wiedmann Bible, a compilation of 3,333 hand-painted images of the Old and New Testament by German artist and multi-talent Willy Wiedmann (1929-2013).
