The Bible's final words about King Jehoram are among the saddest recorded about someone's death. The New Living Translation says, "No one was sorry when he died" (2 Chronicles 21:20). How could someone die and no one shed a tear? Because a selfish life will never be a celebrated life. We are all more like King Jehoram than we wish to admit, but it's time to confess our selfishness and strive to change it. After all, a life lived for Jesus and others is a life well-lived.
