The prophet’s satire grows in these hysterical verses. He follows a metal worker and a carpenter as they make their gods. Most notably the woodworker cuts down a tree, uses part of it to make a fire and prays to the other half for salvation. The satire reaches conviction when the woodworker is unable to say to himself, “Is not this thing in my right hand a lie?”

Crisis Converted Now:

The prophet puts it simply, “no one stops to think.” So it is in our world today. We hurry from one thing to another. We enter our kids into another event, another sport, another club. We sign up for one more exclusive offer. We watch whatever Netflix, TikTok, or Youtube recommends next. We are relentlessly distracted and entertained. No one stops to think.
