Pandemic PregnancySample
You are a superhero. Women have the unique ability to create an entire life, grow, and sustain that life even after it leaves our body. God specifically chose you to be the hero in the life of your future or current little ones. How much of a compliment is that? The God of the Universe, the Creator of all things, hand chose you regardless of how dire the circumstances surrounding your pregnancy. He chose you to be the mom of that child. I am constantly in awe that not only was I chosen to parent my daughter, I was trusted to birth her, love her, cherish her, protect her, raise her, and do life with her! What an honor! The work of parents is far too often swept under the rug. We go out and are asked about what we do for a living, then discuss our 9-5 lives. But being a parent is full-time on top of your full-time! Being a mom is an extra layer in itself due to factors such as breastfeeding or bedtime cuddles. You don't just go home and relax after a long day. You go home and put on your superhero cape, and play, laugh, love, cry, cook, eat, do bath time, read, pray, and whatever else your time consists of with those wonderful littles!
You are their world of firsts. Your arms are their safe space, your heartbeat is their lullaby, your voice is their soothing mechanism, your smell is their favorite scent, your smile is their prettiest piece of art, and in your company is their happiest place on earth.
Today I challenge you to pray about child-like faith. What does this mean? How and why should we encompass such ideals? Do we get just as excited about our relationship with Christ as our kids do about seeing us first thing in the morning peering over their crib? Journal about it!
