Take Up Your Cross and Follow Jesus

DAY 14 OF 14

Role of the Church in Establishing the Kingdom of God

Out of those standing there with Jesus, some would not taste death till they come into the experience of the kingdom of God.

When we come to Christ, we come into the fellowship of the kingdom of God. This was the mystery that was hidden in God through the ages (Ephesians 3:9). Throughout time, God has been in an engagement with the principalities and powers in the heavenly places. God’s agenda is that His manifold wisdom might be made known to these principalities and powers. So what is the method that He has chosen to reveal His wisdom? The Church is called to reveal His wisdom to the principalities and powers (Ephesians 3:10-11)

Are we—the Church— conscious of our glorious position along with Jesus in His kingdom? We are divided and fragmented, when we ought to be considering and working together, along with God, in revealing His wisdom to the principalities and powers.

Jesus is seated at the right hand of God (Ephesians 1:20). This position places Him far above all principalities and powers and might and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come (Ephesians 1:21). Everything is under the feet of Jesus and He is head over all (Ephesians 1:22)

We, as the Church, must see our Head who is Jesus. We then need to perceive our role in engaging and wrestling with the principalities and powers over whom Jesus reigns. When we understand our place, we demonstrate and reveal the wisdom of God to the principalities and powers (Ephesians 1:23).

Thought to ponder

We, as the church, cannot plead ignorance of the mysteries of God.
