Real Hope: Obedience

DAY 1 OF 5

Relying On God's Word

When we travel, we see lots of things and want to understand them better and learn something about them. Sometimes we take the short paper guide or booklet as we walk around the place or maybe an audio guide so we can learn at a deeper level. However, sometimes we want to really know everything so we book a tour and a guide takes us through the venue and gives details that we otherwise wouldn’t know and we can ask lots of questions to clarify our knowledge and understanding.

God’s Word provides a full-life guide for how to live, how to treat others, and how to identify what is important and where our priorities should be.

These are wonderful and challenging words from the Psalmist. He writes that ‘I have put my hope in your laws’. This means full confidence in the truth of God’s Word, the Bible. We base our lives on the truth of His Word and we can rely on it.

Relying on God’s Word means we are obedient to it. We want to follow God because we are in a relationship with Him. We know God and can trust Him so we can follow Him knowing that it takes us to a better place both now and for ever and ever.

About this Plan

Real Hope: Obedience

So often the word ‘obedience’ doesn’t draw out positive meaning. However, that is just what the Bible tells us it is. In the Bible, obedience is meant to bring freedom and joy. At its essence it is a demonstration of a life lived with God. This plan is intended to challenge our worldly definition of obedience and align our hearts and understanding to the heavenly definition.
