Investors Respond to Poverty

DAY 2 OF 3

God Died for Them

We've known all along that God cares for the poor, but God really cares for the poor. It's one of those things that you read and understand, but then God hits you over the head with it and all of sudden, it's astounding. His love is amazing.

We recently went and served a meal to the homeless in our city. And It hit me: these are God's people. He died for those very same people. We've got to care for the poor. God died for them. The least we can do is give to them.

That truth just never gets old. We're so keen to make the story of Jesus about us, about the fact that he died and rose again for us. And he did. Absolutely. But he also did that same thing for everyone else, for the people we have marginalized and ignored. If Jesus didn't ignore them, how could I?

That's a question that can continue to convict over and over again. But when we see these people, let us be reminded of who they are in God's eyes. To God, they're as valuable as the life of his only son.
