Through the Bible: Exodus

DAY 3 OF 12

All for God’s Name

For by now I could have put out my hand and struck you and your people with pestilence, and you would have been cut off from the earth. But for this purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power, so that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.
Exodus 9:15-16 (ESV)

The Israelites have been living in Egypt for 400+ years. Long gone were the days when they were esteemed because of Joseph. They have now become slaves and the Lord sent Moses to deliver them.

The plagues came and chances to repent were given one after another, but the Egyptians just wouldn’t let the Israelites go. Areas supposedly protected by Egypt’s gods, their health, wealth, sources of livelihood were turned upside-down by the plagues. In the midst of all this, the Lord protected and stayed with His people, the Israelites.

The reason for all these to happen? It is to show His power, so that His name may be proclaimed in all the earth. In today’s environment, we might see a lot of things that could make us ask, “Lord, where are you? Are you not going to do something?”

Yes, He is working – in His time. Will you trust Him?

Prayer:

Father God, we thank You for being our good, good Father. Help us to know that everything happens according to Your good purpose, and help us to be able to trust You in the midst of storms in life. Thank You Lord, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

About this Plan

Through the Bible: Exodus

As the name suggests, the book of Exodus is about the departure of the enslaved Israelites from Egypt to the land God promised to Abraham. This is an invitation for the people to leave from bondage to freedom, to be called “My People” by God. Is there anything in life that is putting you in bondage? Do you want to be free? Join us as we journey through Exodus.
