Through the Bible: Exodus

DAY 2 OF 12

True Humility Overcomes Fear and Pride

And the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron shall be your prophet.”
Exodus 7:1 (ESV)
But the Lord said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV)

Moses encountered God, saw the Divine perform miracles and was hand-picked by “I am” to do what He would do through him. Yet, Moses still focused on his inadequacy and pride instead of God’s assurance.

Similarly, many of us depend on our might and strength to do things our ways without seeking God. When will we learn to totally rely on God whose thoughts, strength and ways are higher than ours? (Isaiah 55:8-9)

Have you ever heard “God doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies the called”? God doesn’t choose people who can do great things but He enables those He chooses to do great things.

Prayer:

Lord, Help us do Your great things with obedience like Christ. Humble us to be equipped by You so that You can make things great through us. Amen.

About this Plan

Through the Bible: Exodus

As the name suggests, the book of Exodus is about the departure of the enslaved Israelites from Egypt to the land God promised to Abraham. This is an invitation for the people to leave from bondage to freedom, to be called “My People” by God. Is there anything in life that is putting you in bondage? Do you want to be free? Join us as we journey through Exodus.
