"Patterns Of This World" 

One of the things that I love about having faith in Jesus is that all He requires of me is to believe. He has already done the hard work and we just have to accept it. How can we really allow the work He did on the cross to transform our lives? Well, in Romans chapter 12:2, the Bible tells us not to be conformed to the patterns of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. The patterns of this world are things such as violence, hate, greed and insecurity.  The patterns of Jesus are things such as peace, love, compassion and security. 

If you feel like the patterns of the world are more apparent in your life, than the patterns of Jesus, never give up. Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, think about those things. I grew up with a bunch of insecurities and pressures that I couldn’t see a way out of. I felt like something was missing. Eventually I decided to put my faith in Jesus and he was able to fill the hole in my heart. I have undeniable faith that He can do the same for you too. What can make us whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. 

Prayer: Jesus thank you that you want me to have life and life to the full. I pray that when the pressures of life become overwhelming, I will look to you to be my guide. Give me a peace that surpasses all understanding. Transform my life and make me whole again. Thank you that your blood saved my soul, and allow me to shine your light in a world that can be dark at times. You haven’t given me a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and a sound mind. Amen
