"His Forgiveness"

Forgiveness was a hard concept for me to get my head around. You mean to tell me that Jesus paid the price for all the mistakes that I’ve made in my life?  Well, yeah! The opportunity to walk away from our sin, and walk towards God is the reason He shed His blood. His sacrifice gives us the opportunity to repent and turn away from our wicked ways. 

Often we can look at our mistakes and think that they’re too big for God to forgive, or we can look at ourselves and think that we’re too imperfect for God to work with. This is just not true because God doesn’t want you us to feel guilt and shame. He wants us to be free. The devil knows your name but calls you by your sin. God knows your sin but calls you by your name. Stop looking back and start looking forward. The more you focus on Jesus and his forgiveness, the further away you get from your past.  

Prayer: Jesus thank you for the gift of forgiveness. Thank you that because I believe that you are Lord, I am forgiven and no longer live with the guilt of my mistakes. Help me to not abuse your grace but instead allow your love to transform my life. I am forever grateful that your blood washed away my sins and made them white as snow. Amen.
