Qualities Of An "Unconventional" Business LeaderSample
Qualities Of An "Unconventional" Business Leader | 5. Integrity
We are revealing scriptures and stories that illustrate the seven key qualities of Unconventional LEADING. Today we will consider “I” which stands for integrity and is the fifth quality in this seven-part study.
In the business world, leaders often translate "integrity" into doing what is legal. But a closer look at its definition, "the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.", reveals broader implications. What does God's Word say? It indicates our conduct and decisions are not only to be honest and moral, but also beyond reproach.
A friend of mine had a minority stockholder in his business that had accused him of financially shortchanging her on a transaction. My friend adamantly disagreed.
A year later, however, he felt convicted to discuss the situation with me. As we talked through this situation, he realized that he owed this person the benefit of the doubt. To make amends, he wrote a sizable check.
Proverbs 11:3 teaches, “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.”
Be known as an unconventional business leader who holds to a higher standard of integrity.
