Paul knew something about caring for the next generation. After Paul had his life collide with Jesus in Acts 9, he decided to spend three years with the disciples before he began to preach and teach the world about Jesus. According to historical texts, Paul was several years younger than the disciples, and he chose to learn from the men who walked and lived with Jesus. It wasn’t until three years later that Paul began his first missionary journey.

And then Paul met Timothy. Timothy was quite a bit younger than Paul. Some historians claim that Timothy was 25 years younger. Paul poured his heart and soul into Timothy, the teenager, believing the gospel would continue to spread from generation to generation. Who is your Timothy? Who are you pouring your life into? Who is going to take what you believe and carry it to the next generation?
