Be a Game ChangerSample
How Will You React?
Get your mind ready to imagine a scene right now. You ready? Good. Here goes.
You have to travel a long distance to see a favorite relative of yours. It’s important. They’re very ill and you want to see them one last time before they pass on.
And just now, someone gave you free airplane tickets directly to their city! Wow! But you decide you don’t want to fly. You don’t want a train. Not even a bus. Not a car. Not a bike. You just want to walk. And you’re still panicked you won’t get there in time.
Does that make sense?
Not even a little bit! If you’re in a hurry to cross a long distance, you would never ignore all the game-changing ways to travel that are available to you. Your reaction to free plane tickets? It would make a lot more sense if it were one of thanks, joy, and a big, “Yes, please!” You’d probably tell everyone you know about this awesome person who just gave you free tickets! Right?
Check out this video for more on what it looks like to react to amazing, game-changing news.
The Bible story you’ll read today gives a great example of someone who had a great reaction to the power and presence of Jesus in his life. A blind man was healed. He ran off telling everyone about Jesus who healed him. He didn’t back down even when people argued. He just told his story. He was excited and wanted everyone to know about it. Jesus changed the game for him.
Jesus changed the game to release us from fear, shame, loneliness, and so much more. How will you react?
Ask yourself: Have I ever underreacted to the grace and forgiveness Jesus offers me? If the Good News is life-changing, how has my life changed?
Challenge yourself: Think of something in your life that needs to react strongly to Jesus and the good news that He’s offering you a fresh start and forgiveness from all your sins and wrong choices. Maybe you’ve been feeling unloving feelings toward someone. Maybe you’ve been sneaking something you know you shouldn’t sneak. Maybe you’re not forgiving someone you need to. Maybe you just don’t really care that much anymore. Whatever it is, write it down on a piece of paper. Pray the prayer below, then, crumple up that paper and throw it away for good!
Pray: God, thank You for making me brand new in every way. You paid the price for my wrongs with Your own life. Help me never to forget what my sins cost You. Help me always to react to the good news that I’m free in You with the respect and joy that deserves! Because You’re so good, I want to follow You and live the way You say is best every day of my life! Help me to stay excited to share how good You are with others for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.

About this Plan
A game changer totally reshapes the direction of a game. Jesus was a game changer for a lost world. And guess what? You can be a game changer for someone else by telling them what Jesus did for you. Evangelism is a big word with big responsibility, but it’s actually very simple. This Bible Plan will help preteens understand how to share the Gospel with gentleness and respect.
