DAY 5 OF 5

LIVING IN REPENTANCE

Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, (Philippians 2:12)

We might forget that our God is omnipresent and omniscient when we are distracted by our feelings or emotions. We are faced with choices that we have to make in life. We can get upset, get angry, or do the wrong things because of our choices or decisions.

God is love. This is the character of God that we know from the book of Genesis since Adam fell into sin. When His chosen people committed mistakes and crimes because of their own decisions, God never held back love for His people. God let them make their own decision and bear the consequences. However, God's love was still with them. God proved His love by waiting for His people to repent and turn to Him.

God allows us to make choices. He is patient with us as He waits for us to choose His perfect way. Jesus once said that we should be perfect just like our Father in Heaven is perfect. The Apostle Paul also said that our mind should not be like the world. It must be changed to be like Christ so that we can distinguish what is good, pleasing, and perfect.

God has given His grace to us to become new creatures. He has paid for us with His blood. We are saved by putting our faith in Christ. Now, what do we do to indicate that we are His? We need to work on our salvation, which refers to living in repentance. We should be quick to repent when we are reprimanded by the Lord through prayer or through others.

Be quick to choose His way because of His great is His love for you.
