DAY 7 OF 7

A CHANGING LIFE

You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. ( John 15:16)

God wants us to be a fruitful Christian. That means our life must be a blessing, giving value to others around us. If our life is fruitful, we bring glory to God. There are two things we need to do in order to live a fruitful life:

1. Planted in the house of God. (Psalm 92:13-16) God wants us to be part of His congregation—planted, committed, and faithful to a local church. Can you imagine the chaos if you plant a tree in front of your house and the next week you dig it out and move it to the side of your house? Then the next month you move the tree to the back of your house? What do you think will happen to the tree? Rather than bearing fruit, the tree would probably die from all the movement. It is the same for us. We cannot keep moving from one church to another without consequences to our spiritual health. Let’s get planted in a church so we can grow and bear fruit.

2. Involved in the ministry.

There are two types of ministry we can do. First, is ministry in the church where we function as part of the body of Christ, serving one another according to the talent and gift God gives us. Second is mission ministry where we function as part of a mission team sharing the gospel actively so that through our life more people come to know and believe in Jesus.

The keys to a fruitful life are a relationship with Jesus, being planted in a local church and being involved in the ministry. Through this we will see that our life will keep growing and maturing, producing more fruit, and the name of Jesus will be glorified.

Life is short. Let us move to serve the Lord and produce the healthy fruit of an abundant life.
