CHANNEL OF LIVING WATER
Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them. (John 7:38)
Not long ago when I was about to have lunch with my wife at a nearby food court, we passed by a pensive looking young man. Next to him we saw a walking aid. I had a desire to pray for the young man, but I thought, “Maybe later”, because I saw an old man sitting nearby and I felt uncomfortable.
After eating, again we passed by the young man. The old man was still there, too, so we decided not to pray for the young man. But as I reached home, conviction from the Holy Spirit was so strong, that we decided to go back to the food court. The old man was still there, but we made up our minds to talk to the young man and indicated our wish to pray for him. After we prayed, I could see that he was touched, and he cried upon listening to our prayer.
When we receive Jesus as our God and Savior, He becomes the living water that keeps flowing from our life (Luke 4:14). I believe the living water inside us is meant not only for our own life, but is meant to be shared and given out to others around us.
There are so many people surrounding us that experience barrenness and drought in their life. They are currently experiencing problems, fear, worry, sickness, depression, and bondage to sin. We fully understand there is only one way out for them to be set free from their barrenness. That is when they receive Jesus in their life. One big question to us is: Do we want to be the channel of living water to them? (Romans 10:14-15)
Let us become the channel of living water that brings life to others.
