DAY 4 OF 11

Your Body is God’s Temple

1 Corinthians 6:19

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.

Solomon started to build the temple of God. It was 480 years after the Israelites were freed from Egypt! The temple was carefully drafted and built. The materials chosen were from the best trees and stones. The outside and inside of the temple were beautiful beyond description and covered in gold, silver and bronze. It was so huge and majestic.

It took 7 years for Solomon to complete it. Solomon sacrificed so much time, money and energy to build the temple of God because it was a holy place for worshipping God.

Your body is the temple of God. Just like Solomon building the temple with so much love, God also created your body with precision. Your body, mind and heart are fearfully and wonderfully crafted by God.

This is why you have to take care of your body. Do not neglect God’s temple. Eat healthy food, exercise regularly, keep your heart clean and focus on God. Just like how it is for the temple of God, let only holy things enter your body. Remove all the junk and bad habits that are polluting your body and your life.

Prayer

Dear God, You have created me wonderfully and fearfully. I want to treat my body as Your temple where only healthy and holy things are allowed to be. Amen.
