DAY 5 OF 30

"Who is Jesus? He is the Judge of all Humanity"

John the Baptist declared that the Messiah who was to come would judge all the earth. Jesus however came not to judge but to save the world. John’s prophetic words covered both the first advent and the second coming of Jesus. And when Jesus comes again, he will come in authority and power as a King and Judge to judge both the living and the dead. The justice of God and punishment for wrongdoing will be revealed in that judgment. Even believers in Christ will be judged but for us who believe, there is no condemnation or separation from the eternal life we have in Christ. However, our works will be judged to determine our rewards in eternity. We see Jesus today as reflecting the love and grace of God but we, as believers, need to understand that he is also our coming Judge and that all our works will be judged.

Lord Jesus, we worship you – you are the coming King and Judge of all the world. And when you come in judgement, we thank you that we who have put our faith in you will not be condemned but will be saved. Let us not now allow our salvation in you to make us live compromised lives but to know that our works too will be judged – we want to live lives for your Glory and be pleasing to you in all we do. In Jesus’ name.
