DAY 5 OF 5

 Courage to Love

In the tapestry of human experience that is woven together with its successes and failures, love is the thread that binds. It is the one thing that is most needed. We must receive His love before we can give it away to others.

If you dare to pursue Him, you will risk rejection, being misunderstood, and maybe even persecution. But if you find the courage to love like God loves, you will be among the bravest of all.

To know and experience the unrelenting love of God is to know the most formidable force and overwhelming threat to the power of the dark side. Nothing else is comparable to His love in individual, life-shaping and world-changing ways. It is hard for us to comprehend fully, but perfect love lives in all types of imperfect people, and it is working to transform them according to His image.

Our response to this love should be to strive to rekindle our passion, to endeavor to make all things about Him, to commit to making time to study the Word with other believers, to protect our own personal devotional time and to find ways to serve the ones that He loves. God wants us to be full of Him. This means being full of courageous love for the Lord, His ways and His people.

Prayer

I ask that You overshadow all of me with Your unrelenting love. Your love has transformed me, strengthened me, spoken to me and comforted me. When I am strained in life, let more of Your perfect love empower me to share and impart to others how amazing and fascinating You are. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Action Step

Make a short list of people with whom you want to improve your relationship. Ask God to show you powerful ways to pray for and love them. Then put one of those ways into practice today.
