 Courage to Hope

We need supernatural courage to meet life’s daily challenges with grace, love and patience. Experiencing a true encounter with God changes everything. One of the most powerful aspects of a genuine God-encounter is that it generates hope. Not a whimsical, wishful, maybe-if hope, but a dynamic expectancy that God is going to do something that is beyond the natural abilities found in this visible world. 

Our hope is based on God’s character, His promises, His track record in biblical history and our own experiences. When spiritual courage is exercised and hopeful expectation starts operating, you will have a sense of comfort, a feeling of being shielded and the assurance that God is in control. Human effort alone cannot achieve this kind of outcome.

To wait on the Lord is one of the most foundational truths of every believer. To wait is to expect with hopefulness for God’s mercy, His salvation and His rescue. While waiting we are not to take matters into our own hands. We believe that when the Lord fulfills His promises, the result is often much better—even if different—than expected. God’s promises are worthy of our hope of His coming through for us. 

Be of good courage and hope expectantly. The Holy Spirit within you will bear witness with your spirit of your redemptive future. God wants to use ordinary you in extraordinary ways. When life comes at you with high drama or with a mundane annoyance, the Holy Spirit wants to rise up within you. The enemy wants to grind you down, frustrate you, disappoint you and make you feel hopeless and depressed. Jesus is courageous for you. He is why you can have hope.

Prayer

Father, you are the God of all hope. Empower me beyond my natural ability and boundaries of familiarity. My desire is to be as bold as a lion and to bring You honor. With You, nothing shall be impossible. Baptize me with Your bold love that never fails. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
