Thriving in IsolationSample
DEVELOP A HUNGER FOR GOD THROUGH FASTING
Fasting isn’t about twisting God’s arm so that you can get what you want from him. Fasting is about developing a hunger for God. It is not about seeking God’s hand, but seeking his face. There are few things that will make you feel as desperate as hunger or thirst. When you fast, you are reminded by those hunger pains that you are far more desperate for God than you are for food. Consider fasting a meal or two sometime in the coming week. During that time, do not stay busy so as not to think about fasting, instead slow down and utilize some of the spiritual self-feeding tools that you have been learning.
Today, do SOAPS through the passage and make sure to make some specific observations about fasting.
