Reverse the Curse: How Jesus Moves Us From Death to Life

DAY 6 OF 6

Day 6 - Reverse the Curse

The sin of Adam and Eve ushered in a string of broken relationships. We were no longer walking in peace with our God. We were suddenly in contention with one another. Even our connection to the world around us and our work within it was suddenly strained. Sin brought its master, death, and our world as God created it was destroyed in an instant. But that was not the end of the story; God had just begun introducing His plan of redemption.

The curse of sin has no claim over us, the cross of Christ has paid the price. Death’s sting has no hold on us, the tomb is empty. As followers of the way of Jesus, our aim is Heaven, our hope is tethered to this story of beginnings, and our hands are engaged in reversing the curse.

In Romans 8:28 the promise that God works out “all things” for the good of those who love Him challenges us to place our whole lives under God’s authority. Nothing the curse has damaged is off limits to God’s power.

Questions

  • Death, for those outside of faith, is a place of finality. But, what does death represent for the Christian? How did Jesus reverse the curse of death?
  • What areas of your life are sentenced to death right now—that is they are not aligned with God’s purpose? How could you reverse the curse in those areas? What is something you can do to bring life where there’s death?
Day 5

About this Plan

Reverse the Curse: How Jesus Moves Us From Death to Life

Within Eden, sin moved in and made its home in the world. A world of God’s creation became tainted by a curse of our own doing. There is no doubt that sin came to ravage all things good, but woven throughout all of Scripture is the story of God working all things out for His good. We brought sin into the story, but God is reversing the curse.
