Reverse the Curse: How Jesus Moves Us From Death to Life

DAY 2 OF 6

Day 2 - Conflict and Confusion

God created us as male and female because “It is not good for the man to be alone.” In His perfect plan in Eden, Adam and Eve were uniquely designed to balance and serve one another—each bearing God’s image in specific and complementary ways. Together, they reflected God’s perfect image.

But when Adam and Eve disobeyed their Lord, the sin in the world broke that unity. Through the curse, the distinctions meant to complement one another became divisions used to crush each other. Because of the curse, conflict and confusion between men and women overtook companionship and community.

As God’s image bearers to the world, when men and women tackle life together, we carry the fullness of the image of God among us. Reversing the curse between men and women begins by looking to the example of the Son of Man as God fully intended man to be.

Questions

  • What are ways you have been affirmed as one of God’s image-bearers? How can you celebrate the men or women around you in intentional ways?
  • What’s the difference between “togetherness” and “sameness”? Which is more beneficial (being together or the same) in your relationships at home, at work, and in the church?

About this Plan

Reverse the Curse: How Jesus Moves Us From Death to Life

Within Eden, sin moved in and made its home in the world. A world of God’s creation became tainted by a curse of our own doing. There is no doubt that sin came to ravage all things good, but woven throughout all of Scripture is the story of God working all things out for His good. We brought sin into the story, but God is reversing the curse.
