Love God Greatly: Risen

DAY 29 OF 40

In the first century, the testimony of women was not considered reliable. Even though He knew this, Jesus chose a few women to be the first to hear about His resurrection. The greatest news in history was entrusted to a few people whose testimony was not admissible in court.

By entrusting the news of the resurrection to women, Jesus gave them value in a world that had not previously given them any. The resurrection changed these women by giving them an opportunity to share the truth of the resurrection with the rest of the disciples.

The resurrection changes us socially by giving value and honor to those whom society rejects and ignores. Jesus honored and accepted these people in His life and in His resurrection. We can rest in the work He has already done to give us honor and value when the world rejects us.

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your work of redemption. Thank You for giving me honor and value even when the world says I have none. Help me to treat others the way You would treat them and see them through Your eyes. Amen.
