DAY 1 OF 7

WHAT KIND OF INHERITANCE?

Almost every parent thinks about the kind of inheritance they can leave to their children and the generation after them. There are several things to consider when you are thinking of your inheritance to your children. One of them is being aware of whether the inheritance will cause your children to live in truth, following God wholeheartedly, or drag them away from God.

After Joshua, the Israelites forsook the Lord God of their fathers and worshipped Baals. Those who had witnessed the mighty hand of God upon them had passed away. We can learn from this fact, that we have to teach our children and grandchildren about faith and wholehearted worship of God .

The children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord and served the Baals and other gods. The sin of idolatry provoked the Lord to anger and outrage in His heart. The Israelites failed to keep their word to worship the Lord as the only God. Because of their disobedience and sin, God sold them into the hands of their enemies all around. But from time to time, God helped the Israelites by raising up judges to deliver them from the hands of those who plundered them. Here we learn that God is the true God, full of love, who will never leave or abandon us.

It is our responsibility to prepare our families and children to adopt the fear of God as their lifestyle. Do not fail to teach them to live in truth, to persevere in their faith to Jesus and the one true God, so that they can live a life of freedom from bondage. Living a lifestyle according to the Word of God is an inheritance we can pass on to our children and grandchildren.

A simple way to encourage our descendants to live in the fear of God is by daily living the truth of His Word.
