In All Circumstances

DAY 4 OF 12

He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins.

The widow in the story gave all she had to God. Think about it...she was a widow, she did not have the luxury of anyone to provide for her, she was completely alone in this world. Yet she put her fear aside and gave what she had to God as her offering. Two coins were not really going to help the temple make budget, but Jesus saw her gift and knew what a sacrifice she was making. That small donation had a huge impact on Jesus because He saw her heart.

Many times we do not give our money to God because we feel we don’t have a large amount to offer. But, God does not care about the amount. God actually does not need your money! God is more interested in your heart and your willingness to give. Push past your fear of not being able to give to God because you don’t feel you have money to give. Keep in mind it is all His anyway. He is the one that has blessed you with the amount of money you have, and He is able to meet all of your needs.

Father,

Thank you for the many blessings in my life especially with my finances. God, I want to depend 100% on you and be like the widow in the story in Luke, where she trusted in you to meet all of her needs. I want to give to You all that I have and have full faith that You will provide for me. I am not there yet Lord, but I desire to have faith like hers. God, grow my faith in you, and show me how faithful You are.
