True North: Leading Your Family Spiritually

DAY 4 OF 8

God’s truth says that you are the Spiritual Leader of your family, but keep in mind that you were never designed to lead all alone. We were made for community, relationships, and to learn how to love. This is why having a true Biblical community is incredibly important. Jesus had the 12 disciples. If Jesus didn’t do life alone, then we shouldn’t either.

I have a group of men, who I meet with every other Wednesday morning. I have learned to be completely open, honest, and transparent with this group of men. They know my story, my past, the good, and the bad. They know my struggles and insecurity.

When I have questions about being a husband, father, or even just a man, these are the men that I go to. These men are invaluable to me and my spiritual journey. When I am tempted I will reach out to one of these men.

To lead your family well they need to know you are being shaped by your community. If you’re trying to find all of the answers on how to be a husband, father, and Christ-follower on your own, you’re robbing yourself and your family. Remember if Jesus was intentional about surrounding himself with community, it’s pretty important.

Question: Do I have Godly men in my life that I can be open, honest, and transparent?
