The Mindset Of A Dreamer

DAY 3 OF 3

Where is Your Dream?

Everything about you is directly related to the inner dream in your heart.  When you think about it for a moment, none of us have had any control over where we were born, when we were born, our parents and family, our strengths and weaknesses, our talents and abilities, our passions and desires.

Either you believe all those factors that determine who you are—were just chance situations--or you believe that life has a far grander plan.

Could it be that the overall reason you are good at one thing, and at the same time only have negative talent in other areas, is simply because you have been perfectly matched to fulfill the dream in your heart?

The greatest path to follow—where your Dream lies waiting for you—is at the end of all the strands of your life. Where they all converge like many strands woven into a magnificent and perfectly formed work of incredible art. Nearly all of the people I have helped to find and fulfill their dream miss this powerful truth:

Your dream is exactly and precisely located where all your talents, abilities, desires, passions etc., all come together

Your dream is located right in the heart of your greatest strengths, your most amazing talents, and your strongest desires. Not where you have weakness, not where you struggle to even be average, not where you hate doing things.

That’s why everyone who finally finds and lives their dream are so fulfilled and joyful. Why? They finally fit perfectly. They were born for this! You were born to live out your dream. The first part of identifying your dream is in identifying what you love to do and what you are great at doing.

Personal Reflection:Take a moment to write down in your personal journal or on a piece of paper or the notes section of your smartphone/computer – what are the things you are exceptionally good at doing. It’s okay to write down your strengths. You may be a great cook. Or you could be very good at bringing people encouragement, lifting spirits. You could be good at fixing things. Whatever it is, write it down. Your strengths and your skills are a clue to your dreams.

Now, pray to God and ask Him to reveal how you are to pursue living out the full expression of the dream He has placed in your heart.

Here are a few more Scriptures to reflect on as you pray:

a. Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

b. Luke 1:37 “For nothing will be impossible with God.”

c. Philippians 4:13 “ I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

d. Proverbs 3:5,6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
