DAY 3 OF 5

Back to love!

Many Christians known through the centuries for their faith at times found themselves bowed down by depression and anxiety. Mother Teresa lived out her great love; and yet her writing shows that at times even she doubted her faith and suffered from depression.

Yet, despite her dark thoughts, Mother Teresa experienced God’s love. She made an immense difference to the lives of thousands of people, because she knew the secret that love should be a circle without an end.

She transformed the fruit of her faith into loving service and dedicated her life to the sick and poor who had nothing. Up until her death in 1997, she and her helpers spent every day living out God’s love among the poorest of the poor.

Because one woman, who was in no way perfect, was prepared to live out Jesus’ love, thousands of people were reached and helped.

Even if you feel down at times or doubt your faith from time to time, you can still make a tremendous difference to the lives of others if you are prepared to reach out and show them Jesus’ love.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, as has happened so many times in the past, I am overwhelmed by the power of Your love. Thank You for loving me so much that You did not even spare the life of Your Son. Help me, despite my own small faith, to devote this love to the service of others, and to make an effective difference in the lives of many people. Amen.
