Counting The Cost

DAY 15 OF 21

ANXIETY WORRY FEAR:

A Day. Three Bells.

It’s 6AM and the first bell goes off. It’s time to get up and start the day. Your mind is immediately awakened by thoughts of….them. Will they include you in the group or will they ignore you? Hours later, the second bell goes off and your heart starts racing. This one test could determine the rest of your future. Finally, home again and the bell on the oven rings, signaling dinner and a table that should be filled with family and laughter and memories being made, only you’re alone again because dad’s still at work, mom’s out with friends and your brother or sister refuses to come home. This day may or may not be your day, but every day can be filled with different scenarios that make our hearts pound, our pulse race and our hands sweat. We can find ourselves worrying about everything. We live in a stressed-out society that is making us sick, but God doesn’t want us to live that way. God tells us not to be anxious or worry about the future. All we need to do is bring our worries and fears to Him. Let Him carry those burdens while we trust and believe that, while circumstances may not be what we want, He is always aware of the situation and promises our current situations will work out for our ultimate good.

Action Point:

As that first bell goes off in the morning and your mind begins to fill with anxious thoughts, stop and remind yourself that God is in control and He wants you to trust Him with whatever your concerns are.

Question(s):

What steps can you take to let go of some of the fears and stresses that you may be experiencing?

What are the top two things that cause you the most anxiety and what can you do to allow God to take care of those worries?
