PRAYING:
Do you have a best friend? Do you have someone you talk to about absolutely everything? Maybe it’s your mom or dad or sibling. Whoever that person is, the key to making that relationship great is communication. If we don’t talk to or listen to our best friend, how can that friendship grow?
Our relationship with God is the same. The way we communicate with God is through prayer. The beautiful thing about prayer is that God is never unavailable. He is ready to listen to us and communicate with us at any time of any day. Prayer should never be something we feel like we have to do or something that needs to be checked off a daily list. Just like our best friend, God looks forward to talking to us.
If you don’t know where to start or how to pray, that is OK! A great place to start with prayer is thanking God for who He is and what He has done for you. You can also tell Him the things going on in your life and ask Him for forgiveness for the ways you have messed up that day. There is no right or wrong way to pray! God just wants to hear from us!
Action Point:
Just like you are intentional in reaching out to your best friend every day, take some time today and spend it talking to the Lord. Thank Him for the good things that happened today. Ask God to forgive you for the mistakes you make today and ask Him to help you grow to be more like Him!
Question(s):
What is the best time of each day you can spend a few minutes in prayer?
Is there anything happening in your life you can ask God to help you with?
