21 Ways To Thrive By 45サンプル
Gather
Our love for the gospel beckons us to love and share life with others. As we do, we discover we thrive in a community, no matter our age or stage. The early church shared everything. They exchanged stories, meals, and honesty as they pursued life hidden in Christ. Like the early church, let’s gather in victory and despair. Sharing our triumphs and trials with one another.
May we invite honesty, humility, and authenticity. Let’s make room for each other at the table as equals. No one is worth more or less. We sit together regardless of social standing. We won’t look to speak ill of others. May love drip from our lips, only gracious speech evident to all.
Let’s invite those we trust into our struggles and hurts. When we gather in real life, we find the heart of each other, not a slick Facebook status update, but an honest open heart. When we gather it’s messy, imperfect, and we exercise forgiveness. From time to time, we may upset or offend each other. We don't retreat in those moments, excommunicating each other. It’s not our ritual. Whenever possible, seek reconciliation.
Let’s gather with those different from us and witness the image of God buried inside each soul. Are you put together with every hair in place? Great. Are you bedraggled and worn? That’s ok. Both are invited to the table. When we listen, ask questions, and stay rooted in the love and truth of Jesus, we’ll witness Christ move in and through us.
Gathering others isn’t rocket science. Whether it’s hot dogs on the grill or lavish 3-course meals with hours of preparation, both invite community. Too often we wait to be invited rather than extend an invitation to others. We grow jealous of others as they gather for parties or BBQs when we could do the very same thing with the people in our world.
Hospitality isn’t reserved for a select few who remember to vacuum, it’s for all of us. It doesn’t matter if its corndogs or roast duck, may we fill our apartment, condo, house, or hut with those we love and those who need love. When we gather like the early church, our love will be known, tasted, and shared as many find their place at the table.
