Courageous Humility Pt. 1Sýnishorn
As we read today’s Scripture and see clearly we are to share stories of God’s faithfulness, not provoke our children to lose heart, and teach our children to live in ways that honor God, we may feel as though we have not lived these Scripture well. We may be in a season where our relationships with our children are distant, estranged even, sometimes in our own homes, and healing may feel impossible.
Perhaps you’re reading and you are the child with or without children, and your relationship with your parents is distant because of hurt and pain that has worked and wedged its way between you. The call to honor our parents in Ephesians remains.
Be encouraged today to take some time with God today and ask Him to bring healing in your relationships with your children or with your parents, those closest to you, just after your relationship with Jesus and/or your spouse. Be open to correction, repentance and willing to seek forgiveness – the first step towards healing in any broken relationship.
Prayer: Lord, You know where healing needs to take place in our relationship with our parents and children. Thank You for sharing Your Word with us and compelling us to spend time with You, seeking wisdom and guidance on where we may take the first step in bringing healing in these relationships. Bless us with the courage to seek restoration, through Your mercy and grace, love between parent and child, and child and parent. Meet each and every one of us right where we are. Empower us from this day forward to courageously share of Your goodness by the way we live, not provoking our children to anger or unbelief, and share with our children what brings honor to You. Through this healing and having the courage to ask for forgiveness if led to do so, draw our children and parents closer to You than ever before. Causing them to experience Your love through the restoration of relationships. Creating a love for You in their hearts, they’ve perhaps never known. Thank You, Jesus! Amen.
About this Plan
Be strong. Be Alert. Be Courageous. These words are the premise of this 30 day study where you will uncover God's desire for you to call out to Him and trust He will hear. Not only hear, but set you on sure footing, a path He sets before you, for your sake and the sake of those around you. From there you will dig into Scripture around what it means to courageously step into God's presence, how to do so, and what you can expect as a result of going into His presence. Finally, you will be encouraged to step towards the healing Christ offers, both individually, and as the collective Bride of Christ. Each day you will be encouraged to ask questions, seek answers in God and His Word, and identify the step YOU sense the Holy Spirit compelling you to take. Courage accompanies ACTION, and Christ reveals to us where to move next, while the Holy Spirit empowers us to do so!
