Good Morning Girls - Easter

DAY 5 OF 27

Jesus makes it clear that this Last Supper will indeed be the last Passover feast celebrated under the law. Up until now, the Passover celebrated and remembered the saving of the firstborn Israelites from the plague of death (Exodus 12). Jesus is announcing a new saving covenant, one where His blood will save us from our sin and death, triumphing for all of eternity!

The new Lord’s Supper will signify a much more glorious redemption, and should serve to remind us of His body that was broken, and His blood that was spilled out for us. Just as the Last Supper transitioned from a legal celebration to one of complete victory, so should our acts of worship transition when we come to know Jesus as Lord. Are our hearts motivated by laws and rituals, or are we worshiping Jesus out of the freedom given to us because of His supreme sacrifice on our behalf?
