Christ In Me
Ready? Ok. What if this were true?
Gal 2: “20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.”
Rom 8: “11 … the same Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you,..”
Col 1:24-29 “…The word of God in its fullness— the mystery that has been kept hidden for generations, …which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
What if this concept of I’m in Jesus and Jesus the Christ is in and through me were actually true?
This is where you say to me, “Of course it’s true! It’s scripture.” And this is where I reply, “Yes I know we believe it to be true, but so does Satan. The demons actually shutter because they believe so intently that it’s true.”
Do we believe it enough to follow Jesus? I’ve been asking this question daily as I look at the posture that I live my life. Do I live with the awareness and authority of Christ in me?
I wrote a song for the church to pray called Christ In Me that basically asks this question, “What if I believed in your power and I really lived it, what if I believe Christ in me?”
My family and I were dancing in our living room when this song came on. My 5-year-old daughter, Malia, began to make up hand motions to the lyrics and sing them at the top of her lungs. At first I thought it was simply cute, but then my smile turned into tears. What if my 5-year-old began to grasp that the same spirit that raised Jesus from the grave actually lives in and through her? What if that concept was like breathing to her instead of some religious thing that she should do or be? What would happen if we lived with this reality today?
“What if we believe in Your power and we really lived it, what if we believed Christ in Us!”
