The role of the Word in your life

So the Word of God is God’s way of ‘communicating’ with you. It is the answer to all your life questions. Now that you are aware of that, in what place should the Word of God come in your life?

It says in the Bible that you don’t live by bread alone, but by ‘every word’ that proceeds from the mouth of God. Jesus says in John 6:35 ‘I am the Bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.’

So Jesus is the ‘Bread of life’.

Jesus also is the ‘Word of God’.

So when we take in the Word, we don’t need anything anymore, then we will be fulfilled and satisfied.

‘But I need to eat?’ you might think.

Yes, but for example you don’t have to worry about whether you will have food (Matthew 6:31-32). The Bible also teaches that God provides for ‘all’ your needs (Philippians 4:19). And that the Word of God is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105).

The Word truly contains ‘everything’ you need to walk in complete peace, joy, provision, health, freedom, and victory. It offers (eternal) life, makes you truly free, and brings redemption.

Wow! How important is it that you know that all of this is in the Word, that it is truth, and that the Word mixed with faith can make this come to pass? If you want to make this knowledge your own, if you want the Word to start working in your life, then put it in first place.

Make it a priority to get to know it.

Read it every day.

Study it and let it sink from your head to your heart.
