Prepare the Way: A 21-Day Reading Plan Through John by Justeina BrownleeSýnishorn
Day 21: Feed My Sheep
Read John 21
After Peter denied Jesus three times, we find a powerful moment of restoration between them. Jesus asks Peter three times, "Do you love me?" and each time, Peter responds, "Yes, Lord, you know I love you." Jesus then tells him, “Feed my sheep.”
This was more than just a command—it was a Call for Peter to step into a role of caring for and leading others. Jesus was inviting Peter to partner with Him in His Mission to care for His people. The same invitation is extended to us. Jesus Calls each of us to “feed His sheep,” whether by teaching, serving, or simply showing love and care for those around us.
Feeding Jesus’ Sheep can look different for everyone. It might be leading a small group, mentoring someone in their faith, or serving behind the scenes at church. It’s about using our gifts to help others grow in their relationship with God.
Jesus' Call to “feed my sheep” reminds us that every act of service, no matter how small, plays a role in helping others encounter Him. We are entrusted with the care of His people, and through our efforts, we can help them experience God’s Love and Truth.
Reflection Questions:
- Who in your life could benefit from your spiritual guidance? How can you help them grow in their faith?
- Where can you serve within your church or community to help others encounter Jesus?
