Daily Bible Reading— October 2024, God’s Guiding Word: Justice and PeaceSýnishorn
October 24
Introduction
Amos 2:1–16: Today’s reading continues with pronouncements of God’s judgment. Along with Israel’s neighbors, Judah and Israel also are to be judged for their sins.
Today’s Key Verse: Amos 2:10
[The LORD said:] “I brought you out of Egypt, led you through the desert for forty years, and gave you the land of the Amorites to be your own.”
Reflect
In what ways have the people of Judah sinned? How have the people of Israel sinned? What verses speak of the ways God has cared for Israel? In what ways have you experienced God’s love and care?
Pray
Open my heart and mind, Lord, and help me to know and to do your will. Teach me your ways and help me to be an instrument of your peace. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
Amos 3:1–15: Amos’s message of doom for the city of Samaria.
