Storms

DAY 1 OF 4

How to Make It Through the Storm

I’ve lived in South Louisiana most of my life, which means hurricane season is a big deal. Throughout the month of May, we’re thinking about storm preparation and all have our eyes fixed on the June 1st launch of Hurricane season.

Many years, the question isn’t, “are storms coming?” Instead, we ask, “How are we preparing for the coming storms?”

In the same way, we all face storms in life and we need to be prepared for them. We need to stormproof not just our homes—but our lives. While we can’t avoid the storms, we can stand strong in every storm!

You see, in every storm, God provides peace, calm, and shelter. King David wrote in Psalm 107:29-30, He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves. What a blessing was that stillness as he brought them safely into harbor!

Friend, God is with you in every storm. Sometimes He delivers you from the storms, but He always promises to deliver you in the storms. No matter what you’re facing today, let me encourage you—God is faithful and you’re going to make it through this.

As you engage with God’s Word:

● What is God saying to you?

● What does it mean to you?

● What action step do you need to take?

After you reflect on these questions, bring everything to God in prayer.
