Walking by Faith One Day at a TimeSýnishorn
Trust and Obey
Feeling nervous about driving home from an unfamiliar area in the dark, I was very grateful when I remembered my son's navigational system was in my glove box.
As I headed toward home, trusting the GPS was not something that came easy to me. Every time I was told to turn, I was suspicious about whether it was taking me the right way. The journey home was very dark, and everything looked different than it did earlier in the day; so I kept thinking that I was lost.
The lure to turn down a different road toyed with my mind a couple of times, but I resisted the temptation and followed the GPS instead. Within minutes, highway signs appeared in the distance, confirming that I was on the right track. Forty-five minutes later, I was pulling into our garage, safe and sound.
Sometimes I encounter similar resistance when it comes to following directions from God. The Holy Spirit tries to direct me one way, but I am still tempted to go another.
As I did with my GPS, we must learn to trust the guidance of the One who knows the way. Things may seem uncertain at the moment, but if we continue to accept the guidance of the Holy Spirit, following God's direction for our lives, we will arrive safely at our destination. We simply need to trust and obey.

Prayer
Holy Spirit, thank you for your continual direction in my life. You know the deepest desires of my heart, and you have a plan and purpose for my life. Your plans are to prosper me, and not harm me, plans to give me hope and a future. Help me to trust your higher ways and never lean on my own understanding. I desire to follow you all the days of my life. Amen.

About this Plan
Walking by faith is the essence of our journey with God. He wants us to keep our eyes fixed on Him, trusting Him to lead us step-by-step and day-by-day. When we can't see ahead, we must listen for God's direction and rely entirely on His lead. The Lord goes before us and will get us where we need to go.
