Comfort in AnxietySýnishorn
God conquers fear
“For there is no enchantment against Jacob, no divination against Israel” (Numbers 23:23)
This truth should completely dispel all foolish, superstitious fears! Even if there were any validity to witchcraft and omens, they would hold no power over the people of the Lord. Those whom God blesses cannot be cursed by devils.
The ungodly, like Balaam, may craftily scheme the downfall of the Lord's people, but despite their cunning and secrecy, their efforts are destined to fail. Their weapons are ineffective; their strategies are futile. They may gather together, but without the Lord's presence, their gathering is in vain. We can remain calm and watch as they set traps, knowing we will not be ensnared. Even if they seek the aid of Beelzebub, the prince of demons, and employ all manner of deceitful tactics, their efforts will be fruitless; their spells will fail, and their divination will mislead them.
What a comforting blessing this is! It brings peace to our hearts knowing that while God's chosen may struggle in their faith journey, none can ultimately overcome them. God's people will emerge victorious against their adversaries. We have no reason to fear the devil himself or any hidden enemies whose intentions are deceitful and whose schemes are intricate and inscrutable. They cannot harm those who place their trust in the living God. We boldly stand against the devil and all his followers.
