Speak Well: Learning the Language of GodSýnishorn
Day 5: God & Numerology
Devotional:
During my undergraduate career, I had the privilege of leading weekly Bible studies on my college campus. At one of our leaders' meetings, we were praying as we usually would and one of my friends advised me to pay attention to the number 3 and how it showed up in my life. She stated that while we were in prayer, she saw a picture of me surrounded by a bunch of threes. I did not know what to think of it at first, as at that time I was still very new to hearing from God for myself.
Every day after that, every significant moment in my life started to involve the number 3 or started to happen in 3’s. God started to reveal to me the importance of acknowledging His Presence in my life. Every 3 that I saw was an approval from the Holy Trinity that they were with me in that situation or circumstance.
Do not confuse this with the modern-day spiritual practices of wishing on numbers or praying to a sequence of numbers. This simply served as evidence that God is with me. God repeats Himself to emphasize significance. If you read the Bible, you will see several examples of how God gives meaning to numerology and how He uses it to confirm His Presence.
Scripture Breakdown:
Leviticus 25 recalls a conversation between Moses and God at Mount Sinai. God gave Moses specific instructions to share with the children of Israel on what to do during the Year of Jubilee. Read this story carefully and pay attention to the detail that God gave Moses. Study the significance of the numbers that were used in this passage from a Biblical perspective. Recall your own life. Think of a time when God may have spoken to you specifically through numbers.
Protection and Covering are your portion. Speak Well.
D's 3 Keys
D’s 3 Keys are tools that I created to help us become fluent in the Language of God. The three keys below will aid in our ability to understand how God speaks through numbers.
1. Disregard new age/modern-day spirituality. As believers we worship, give honor, and praise to the only True and Living God.
2. Read and study numerology in the Bible.
3. Do not ignore the Holy Spirit. Sometimes we may discount how God chooses to speak. God can and will speak through anything.
