One of the best things about forgiveness is that it sets us free. From what? Well, things like anger, guilt, frustration, sadness, shame, and so much more. When we receive forgiveness, we’re set free from our mistakes, mess-ups, and missteps. We no longer have to live under the weight of where we’ve gone wrong. And when we choose to offer forgiveness, we can move on from the frustration and hurt we’re holding on to. It may not happen right away, but when we take our hurts and pain to God, we can trust that eventually, the forgiveness Jesus came to offer us will help us forgive others too. After all, that’s what Jesus came to give us: a full life lived in full freedom.
Ask yourself this question today: What would forgiveness set you free from right now? Give yourself plenty of time to think honestly about your answer. Then, write it down and share it with a trusted friend, spouse, or small group leader. Ask that person to encourage you to remember the forgiveness you’ve already received from God. Let that be your motivation to give or receive forgiveness and set yourself free to move forward and move on.

About this Plan
Jesus had a way of taking ideas that everyone understood and flipping them upside down to show His followers something new. We’re going to look at some of Jesus’ most countercultural ideas and dive into the way they turned preconceived notions and expectations on their heads, ultimately teaching us what it looks like to take Jesus’ lead and follow His countercultural example in our own lives today.
