DAY 3 OF 20

One of the biggest aspects of the Christian life is joy. Jesus finds joy in our salvation, and we find unlimited joy in Him. Pretty amazing, right? As incredible as this aspect of our faith is, it’s easy for that message to get lost at times. When life gets hard, when we make mistakes, when we give into temptation, when our circumstances are a struggle when we can’t see a way out—then, joy feels hard to find. Not just in our own lives but in our relationship with God. After all, how can God possibly find joy in us when we’re making so many mistakes and missteps along the way?

Well, the next time you find yourself struggling to believe God takes great joy in you, let Jesus’ words here remind you of what’s true—both about God and yourself in any season of life. God takes joy in us! When we’re living out our faith and following Him, God finds joy in us. And when we struggle, stumble, and ask for His help, He shows up joyfully to carry us through it. This week, work to memorize this short verse. God finds great joy in His relationship with you—not just sometimes but all the time!

About this Plan

Countercultural

Jesus had a way of taking ideas that everyone understood and flipping them upside down to show His followers something new. We’re going to look at some of Jesus’ most countercultural ideas and dive into the way they turned preconceived notions and expectations on their heads, ultimately teaching us what it looks like to take Jesus’ lead and follow His countercultural example in our own lives today.
