A Fresh PerspectiveSýnishorn
What do you have that’s worth fighting for?
No burglar breaks into a house where there is obviously nothing to steal, right? Burglars prefer big houses, mansions that are illuminated and can be seen from far away. These houses seem like worthwhile attempts.
Are you being harassed by a burglar in your life right now? Is someone trying to steal your peace right now? Your joy? Maybe even your love?
Then we need an urgent change of perspective today! Because no, it's not burglars making your life miserable. The Bible tells us what it's all about:
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 6:12 NIV)
Yes, as much as I don't like to talk about him, it's the devil who wants to upset you! He has chosen you because he sees it as a worthwhile attempt. He would not make this trouble if it were not worthwhile with you. What do you have that he wants to destroy?
— Your relationship with Jesus.
— Jesus’ plan for you, even if you can't see it yet.
— What you are already doing now that he does not like.
So how do I protect myself—and the divine mandate on my life—from these attacks? God has given the instructions for this in the Bible:
“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” (Ephesians 6:13-16 NIV)
Love it! These verses alone make 3 points:
— You are to press on!
— You can defend yourself - God has given you everything to do so!
— The devil may try, but he doesn't stand a chance!
So what does a change in perspective tell us when we feel like we're "under attack”? That's right, your problem isn't the problem. Someone is simply after you because you are of so much value!
You are a miracle!
