21 Days: Revive Us Again

DAY 12 OF 21

DAY 12: LOST DREAMS

Reflection:

God made a promise to Abraham in Genesis 12 that Canaan belonged to him and his descendants. Crucially, Abraham and Sarah were well past child-bearing age and yet still had no children. Likewise, sometimes dreams and promises God has given us may not make sense in nature, or may seem too far-fetched. On top of that, some dreams and promises take years before we finally see them come to pass.

In the waiting, sometimes we may try (like Sarah did) to bring about the promise through our means. Or, we may end up losing faith and giving up on these God-given dreams and promises. However, these dreams and promises do not have to stay dead. The good news is, in the same way, God breathed new life into the bones - God can breathe new life into our dead dreams and promises.

God fulfilled His promise to Abraham through Isaac. Through the waiting, Abraham was unwavering in his trust and belief that God would keep His promises. He knew that God keeps His Word (Read Numbers 23:19). As we continue to experience revival in every area of our lives, we can allow God to bring these dreams and promises back to life. We can take a page from Abraham’s book and choose to believe again, to put our faith in a God who is faithful and who keeps His Word!

Response:

Take some time today to reflect on the dreams and promises that God has given to you. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal if there are any dead dreams and promises in your life.

Invite God to breathe new life into your dead dreams, and pray that He will fill you with a new unwavering faith to trust that He will do what He says!

About this Plan

21 Days: Revive Us Again

Revival. We may have sung it. Prayed for it. Declared it. Most times, revivals are invisible, gradual, and start up quietly in the place that matters the most – in our hearts.
