Now What? Living a Transformed Life

DAY 4 OF 5

SERVE

As we transform and become more like Christ, there is an ongoing invitation to serve those around us. The Bible tells us that Jesus did not come to Earth to be served but to serve others. He is our example of how we love others in action. When we are able to see beyond ourselves to see what needs we can meet for those around us, we are transformed. Whether it is a coworker, a family member, a friend, or a stranger, we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to be the light to those around us by serving them. When we serve others, a sacrifice can be involved, but you may be surprised how much joy can be found in meeting others' needs. Allow the Holy Spirit to lead you in humbling yourself to serve someone around you today.

Reflection Questions:

  • Are there needs around you that you have the capacity to fill?
  • How has someone serving you impacted your life?
  • In what way can you humble yourself to serve someone else?

Prayer:

Jesus, I thank You for Your humility, that You lead by example in the way You served and sacrificed for the sake of humanity. I pray that today You help me to see beyond my own needs and desires and help me serve those around me. I repent for the times I have been self-centered and prideful. I thank You for Your grace and the Holy Spirit that leads me and guides me. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen!
