Prayers for a Grateful HeartSýnishorn
Oh God,
I confess that I’m sometimes tempted to give up—on myself, on others, and on whole situations. I also confess that those times are when I’m depending on my wisdom or strength instead of leaning on and listening to you. The frustrating thing is I know I don’t have to sink into this negativity. If I would turn to you, recognize your mighty power, and ask for your help, things would be much better. God, I celebrate right now that no other being—human or spirit—has the power to stand against you. No argument, trickery, or sneakiness can fool you. Your wisdom knows no limits. You see all the future holds. Nothing blocks your sight, and nothing changes your plans. All your power and strength are constantly focused on me, and I see your love for me woven into them. Oh, my loving Father, this truth should remind me always to turn to you first.
It’s impossible to comprehend the magnitude of your love for me. Still, with what I can grasp, I praise you for your gentle love. I’m just one human among millions, yet you love me. I need only to let go and let you guide my life and direct my steps. And because of your power, strength, and love, I know I will always be exactly where I should be.
Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and you are exalted as head above all.
