Prayers for Writers: Praying God's Word Over Your Writing

DAY 4 OF 5

Prayer Topic for Writers: Guidance

Father, I’m asking for Your guidance today in a world of confusion and chaos. Out of all the paths I could take, I desire to take the right path according to Your will. You alone know what’s best for me and my writing.

Like a compass pointing north, I want the words I write to point to Jesus. Like a finely tuned instrument, may my writing be tuned to Your heart. Like an accurate GPS, lead me in the right direction with Your Truth.

Before You saved me, my life was aimless, going from one quick fix to another. As one of Your children, my life and writing take on an eternal perspective. The very least I can do is pour out my life for Your glory.

I ask that Your Spirit guide my words. And I ask that the writing I accomplish today would yield real spiritual fruit that lasts. Guide my thoughts and pen so I can look back on this writing session and see Your fingerprints all over it.

Like King David, as a Kingdom writer, I put my hope in You all day long. Thank you for pointing my life in a whole new direction!

In the name of Jesus, my Guide, Amen.

About this Plan

Prayers for Writers: Praying God's Word Over Your Writing

There’s something powerful about praying God’s Word over our lives and writing. By ‘praying God’s Word, ’ we’re talking about piggybacking off words and prayers found throughout Scripture. Utilizing God’s Word in our prayers is like laying down kindling to help start a fire in our own hearts. If we seek to write words of lasting substance, we must be people of prayer who are also led by the Holy Spirit.
